CBRE Receives FutureEdge 50 Award for SpaceSpot Digital Platform

Platform Provides Digital Office Leasing Experience for Small Businesses in Norway with Expansion Planned into Additional Markets

Oslo – April 26, 2021 – CBRE has been named a winner of a 2021FutureEdge 50 Award from IDG’s CIO. This prestigious honour is bestowed upon organizations pushing the edge with new technologies to advance their business for the future.

CBRE received the award for SpaceSpot, a digital marketplace, that guides small businesses through the process of identifying the best space option and negotiating lease agreements for their office requirements. Tenants are directed to the space that best meets their specific requirements and then guided through the lease negotiation process. Landlords benefit from enhanced targeting of highly qualified prospective tenants, and an efficient, secure means of negotiating leases with smaller companies.

“SpaceSpot users can navigate the market and sign their next office lease online without prior real estate experience. And landlords can more easily and efficiently secure the right tenants for their often hard-to-fill smaller units,” says Piotr Kolacz, Head of SpaceSpot for CBRE.

The SpaceSpot marketplace has an intuitive filtering functionality and a lease generation component. By uploading spaces to the marketplace, landlords can facilitate all communication, schedule viewings, share floorplans, negotiate, and manage leases. Flex-space operators can upload their available desks and private offices, enabling tenants to compare and choose the right type of space agreement for their business. The intuitive and standardized SpaceSpot lease negotiation functionality makes it easy to complete a lease.

Following the successful launch in Norway, SpaceSpot is being expanded into other markets.

Sandeep Davé, CBRE’s Chief Digital & Technology Officer, said, “SpaceSpot brings a significantly simplified process of finding a space and executing a lease to what has traditionally been an underserved market in our industry. SpaceSpot is one of many examples where our teams are innovatively solving real-world problems.”

Guy Holden, Managing Director for CBRE’s Advisory & Transaction Services business in EMEA said, “We are very proud of this award recognizing SpaceSpot. What started as an idea in one of our offices in Norway has the opportunity to be part of changing our industry.”

This is CBRE’s second FutureEdge 50 award. Host, CBRE’s workplace experience application received a FutureEdge 50 award in 2020.
