CBRE’s Workplace Playbook – the tool for planning the return to your office

CBRE’s Workplace experts have produced a Workplace Playbook with the ambition to support you in the planning for the return to your office. The playbook is excerpted from CBRE’s internal playbook as we begin the process of reopening our offices around the world.

Questions around returning to our offices

The Workplace team in the Nordics get many questions about our return to the office. The playbook has been a valuable tool for us internally, and now we would like to share our approach with you.

Three phases

In the Workplace Playbook you can read about the three phases:

1. Return to the Workplace
  In this phase we go through:

  • Guiding Principles
  • Form Reopening Task Force
  • Establish Readiness Criteria and Mobilize Readiness Teams
  • Initiate Employee Survey and Communications; Landlord Questionnaires
  • Establish Office Capacity To Support Social Distancing
  • Prepare New Office Protocols
  • Plan Employee Return Approach
  • Prepare the Space

2. Reopening offices/bringing employees back to work
  This phase covers the topics:

  • Office by Office Approach Based on Readiness Criteria
  • Office Opening Approval
  • Readiness Teams Return
  • Employee Guidance
  • Continued Work-from-Home Status for Those Who Can
  • Employee Communications
  • Phased/Staggered Employee Returns

3. Ongoing Workplace Management and Evolution
  This phase covers your:

  • Front desk
  • Concierge
  • Reception and the Lobby.

For example we believe new processes will be implemented to minimize the things front desk staff are assumed to handle.

You are also given the Office Preparation Checklist.

Lastly we share our work with the Digital & Technology evolution. To maintain social distancing, D&T will institute new support protocols.
